Comer warns Hillary Clinton could face contempt charges over Epstein inquiry

 December 15, 2025

Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky just dropped a bombshell that could shake up the political elite.

The Daily Caller reported that in a fiery press release issued Friday evening, Comer put former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on notice, threatening contempt charges if they dodge upcoming depositions tied to their connections with the late Jeffrey Epstein.

The House Oversight Committee isn’t playing games, having issued subpoenas back in August for the Clintons to testify about their ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender.

Originally, Bill Clinton was slated to appear on October 14, while Hillary Clinton’s date was set for October 9, but neither showed up as planned.

Now, Comer has rescheduled their depositions for December 17 and 18, with a stern warning that failure to appear—or to arrange an early January date—will trigger contempt of Congress proceedings.

“It has been more than four months since Bill and Hillary Clinton were subpoenaed to sit for depositions related to our investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s horrific crimes,” Comer declared in the Friday release.

Clintons Accused of Stalling Tactics

“Throughout that time, the former President and former Secretary of State have delayed, obstructed, and largely ignored the Committee staff’s efforts to schedule their testimony,” Comer continued.

“If the Clintons fail to appear for their depositions next week or schedule a date for early January, the Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings to hold them accountable,” he added. Well, isn’t that a polite way to say, “Stop dodging, or face the music”?

Let’s not kid ourselves—when powerful figures like the Clintons seem to sidestep accountability, it fuels the perception that there’s one set of rules for the elite and another for the rest of us hardworking Americans.

For those just tuning in, Jeffrey Epstein was a convicted sex offender who died by apparent suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial, yet his web of high-profile connections continues to haunt the corridors of power.

Despite his criminal history, Epstein rubbed shoulders with big names like Les Wexner, Prince Andrew, and Woody Allen, not to mention photos released by Oversight Committee Democrats showing him with figures like Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Bill Gates, and Steve Bannon.

Democrats have been quick to point fingers at Trump over his past friendship with Epstein, but let’s pump the brakes—Virginia Giuffre, a key survivor of Epstein’s abuse, didn’t accuse Trump of any misconduct in her memoir, released after her tragic suicide.

Trump’s Role Under Scrutiny, Cleared

Adding to the clarity, attorney Bradley Edwards, who represented Epstein’s victims, noted in a 2018 video, “[Trump] was very helpful in the information that he gave and gave no indication whatsoever that he was involved in anything untoward whatsoever.”

That’s a far cry from the guilt-by-association narrative some on the left are pushing, and it’s worth asking why the focus seems to shift when other names are in the frame. Could it be a convenient distraction from tougher questions about who knew what and when?

As this saga unfolds, Comer’s push for accountability is a reminder that no one should be above the law—not even former presidents or secretaries of state.

The Epstein case remains a dark stain on our society, and getting to the bottom of these connections isn’t about partisan point-scoring; it’s about justice for victims and restoring trust in a system that too often seems rigged in favor of the powerful.
