Trump shrugs off accusations of Susie Wiles’ ‘alcoholic personality’ in response to slanderous Vanity Fair story

 December 16, 2025

Vanity Fair just dropped a bombshell profile on White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles that’s got the Trump administration in a tizzy.

Fox News reported that on Tuesday, the magazine published the first part of a two-part feature on Wiles and the current Trump team, sparking a firestorm of reactions from the president and his inner circle over some less-than-flattering remarks.

In the piece, Wiles reportedly described President Donald Trump as having “an alcoholic’s personality,” a comment that raised eyebrows across the political spectrum.

Trump, never one to shy away from a headline, quickly addressed the quip with the New York Post, brushing it off with a chuckle.

“No, she meant that I’m — you see, I don’t drink alcohol. So everybody knows that — but I’ve often said that if I did, I’d have a very good chance of being an alcoholic,” Trump told the Post.

“I have said that many times about myself, I do. It’s a very possessive personality,” he added, turning a potential jab into a self-aware jest.

Wiles and Allies Push Back Hard

Wiles herself didn’t hold back, slamming the article as a “disingenuously framed hit piece” designed to sow chaos within the administration.

She argued that key context was omitted to push a negative narrative about Trump and his team, a sentiment echoed by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who claimed the remarks were taken “wildly” out of context.

Let’s be real—mainstream outlets often cherry-pick quotes to fit their agenda, and this seems like another attempt to undermine a team that’s defying the progressive playbook.

The Vanity Fair story didn’t stop at Trump; it included Wiles’ pointed takes on other administration figures, like calling Vice President JD Vance a “conspiracy theorist for a decade.”

She also took swings at Attorney General Pam Bondi for mishandling Epstein-related documents, labeled Budget Director Russell Vought a “right-wing absolute zealot,” and dubbed Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency, an “odd duck.”

While these comments sting, they’re the kind of raw, behind-the-scenes talk you’d expect from someone navigating the high-stakes world of politics—though Vanity Fair’s framing seems intent on maximizing the drama.

Team Trump Rallies in Defense

Despite the harsh words, Trump’s allies closed ranks around Wiles with glowing praise, showing the kind of unity that drives the left up the wall.

Vance shrugged off the conspiracy theorist label with a smirk, saying, “Sometimes I am a conspiracy theorist, but I only believe in the conspiracy theories that are true,” during a stop in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, Bondi, Vought, and others like Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent hailed Wiles as a top-tier operator, dismissing the article as a desperate smear tactic by a biased media desperate to derail Trump’s agenda.
