Shocking news struck Cincinnati as a prominent figure's home became the target of a brazen attack overnight.
The Daily Mail reported that Julia DeFoor, a 26-year-old transgender woman, was charged with breaking into Vice President JD Vance's $1.4 million Ohio residence, smashing four windows with a hammer, and facing multiple charges, including vandalism and criminal trespass.
This unsettling event unfolded on Monday night in the upscale East Walnut Hills neighborhood, just a few miles from DeFoor's own family home in affluent Hyde Park.
Around midnight, Secret Service agents guarding the Vance property heard a loud crash, quickly spotting a suspect fleeing the scene.
DeFoor, allegedly responsible for the damage, was detained on the spot and handed over to Cincinnati Police for arrest.
Reports also indicate that a Secret Service vehicle was vandalized during the approach to the home, adding to the list of charges.
Thankfully, Vice President Vance, his wife Usha, and their three young children were not at the Ohio residence, as they were staying at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.
Vance took to social media to address the incident, stating, "I appreciate everyone's well wishes about the attack at our home," and expressing gratitude for the swift response by authorities.
While he noted the family’s absence during the break-in, one can’t help but wonder if such incidents signal deeper societal fractures—perhaps a symptom of progressive unrest clashing with traditional values.
Julia DeFoor, previously known as Davis, hails from a privileged background, raised in a $1.3 million Hyde Park home and educated at an elite Catholic high school costing $27,000 annually.
A former National AP Scholar with a flair for drama and music, DeFoor attended the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music before leaving without a degree and later enrolling at a local community college.
Yet, beneath this polished resume lies a troubling history, including a prior vandalism conviction last year that resulted in mental health treatment and hefty restitution.
DeFoor’s parents, both medical professionals, are registered Democrats with a history of significant contributions to progressive campaigns, raising questions about how political divides might play into personal actions.
While the family seems tight-knit, the lack of recent public photos with Julia on her father’s social media hints at possible estrangement—or simply a desire for privacy in turbulent times.
DeFoor herself, when informed of her rights during the arrest, simply said, "I don't know," a cryptic response that leaves much to speculation about motive.
