Mothers accused of attacking their children surface around Lindsay Clancy trial

 October 8, 2026

Multiple mothers have been accused of killing or attacking their own children in the weeks around Lindsay Clancy’s trial, with prosecutors even citing one woman’s interest in the case hours before her son died.

In the weeks surrounding the Lindsay Clancy trial, separate cases across several states and one in Mexico have put mothers under accusation for attacking or killing their children, the Daily Caller reported.

Clancy, on trial in connection with the deaths of her three children, ages five, three, and eight months, is accused of strangling them with exercise bands. Her defense has argued the killings resulted from postpartum psychosis. She also allegedly tried to kill herself by cutting her wrists and neck before jumping from a window.

That trial has become a grim reference point as other accusations against mothers have piled up in the same period, including in the days leading up to the verdict.

Illinois prosecutors flag interest in the Clancy case

In Illinois, Corie Walsh is accused of killing her two-year-old son. Law enforcement found the boy hanging in the basement of their home. Walsh was found in a bloody bathtub with cuts to her wrists and thighs.

Prosecutors claimed Walsh had become “very interested” in the Clancy trial and was discussing it in a group text just hours before she allegedly killed her son.

That detail places the Clancy proceedings not only in the background of these cases, but, in prosecutors’ account, in the immediate lead-up to one child’s death.

Texas stabbings and a fatal shooting after a custody hearing

In Texas, Holly Leeann Flores faces attempted murder charges after she allegedly stabbed her husband and their two young children. Her husband called 911 and said his wife had stabbed him in the head. Their three-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son were found with stab wounds to their chests.

Flores’ husband reportedly told investigators she had been suffering from postpartum depression.

In a separate Texas matter, four-year-old Vivian Savella was allegedly fatally shot by her mother after a custody hearing. The mother then turned the gun on herself, survived several hours, and later died at the hospital.

South Carolina welfare check finds more than 50 stab wounds

In South Carolina, Taylor Gosnell has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing her six-year-old and three-year-old children. Officers responding to a welfare check at her home found the children with more than 50 stab wounds combined.

Also in South Carolina, Justine May is accused of starving her 15-month-old and two-year-old to death. Police discovered the deceased children in their home.

May’s mother drew a comparison to the Clancy case and described the family’s ordeal in stark terms.

May’s mother wrote:

"This has been the fresh h*** your family has been living every day that you don’t communicate or let us see the girls."

She continued:

"Would Justine do this? No. Would this dark entity that is behind Justine’s eyes do this? This haunts my worst nightmares."

Mexico murder-suicide leaves a family dead

Cindy Tamez reportedly gunned down her family in a murder-suicide at their home in Mexico. She killed her partner, Leodegario Moya, her 12-year-old son, and her 11-year-old son, then drove off with her two-year-old son before fatally shooting him and taking her own life.

Across these accounts, the pattern is not a single courtroom drama. It is a string of dead or wounded children, suicide attempts, attempted-murder charges, and relatives or prosecutors pointing to mental-health claims or, in Walsh’s case, fixation on Clancy’s trial itself.

Clancy’s defense has put postpartum psychosis at the center of her case. Flores’ husband pointed to postpartum depression. May’s mother spoke of a “dark entity” behind her daughter’s eyes. Prosecutors, for their part, zeroed in on Walsh’s group-text interest in Clancy hours before her son was found dead.

Exact incident dates, full charging documents, and formal case dispositions for the non-Clancy matters were not laid out in the reporting, and most locations were given only at the state level or as a Mexico home. What is on the record is the roster of accusations, the ages of the children, the methods described, and the timing relative to Clancy’s trial and verdict window.

When small children end up hanged, stabbed, shot, or starved, the public is owed clear facts, swift accountability, and honest answers about warning signs, not slogans that blur the line between illness claims and the hard reality of who paid the price.
