Nancy Pelosi just went berserk and initiated a verbal smackdown on a reporter daring to question her role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol protest, according to Breitbart.
This fiery exchange, coupled with newly surfaced documentary footage, illustrates Pelosi's desperate denial surrounding the chaotic events at the Capitol that day in which she played a major role. After years of blaming Trump, it's clear that Pelosi actually wanted chaos and denied the use of the National Guard.
Let’s rewind to January 6, 2021, when the Capitol faced unprecedented turmoil as rioters breached its walls, leaving lawmakers scrambling for safety.
Fast forward to a recent confrontation where Alison Steinberg, a reporter from LindellTV, pressed Pelosi on why she allegedly refused National Guard deployment to protect the Capitol that day.
Pelosi didn’t hold back, snapping, “Shut up. I did not refuse the National Guard, the President didn’t send it,” while dismissing Steinberg’s line of questioning as mere “Republican talking points."
Well, that’s one way to dodge a tough question, but it hardly clears the air when the accusation keeps resurfacing with evidence to the contrary. Pelosi is lying about the situation and is furious that people keep bringing it up.
During a press conference in June 2021, Pelosi doubled down, claiming she and Congress had “begged” then-President Donald Trump to send the National Guard, only to supposedly be refused.
Yet, a fact check by Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Joel Pollak from May 2023 tells a different story, asserting that Trump offered the National Guard to Pelosi, who, as Speaker of the House, held significant sway over Capitol security decisions.
Apparently, the offer was also extended to Washington, D.C.’s mayor, but Democratic opposition—stemming from discomfort over the Guard’s use during prior Black Lives Matter protests—led to its rejection.
Adding fuel to this already blazing controversy, footage recorded on January 6, 2021, by Pelosi’s own daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, and later obtained by the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, shows a very different side of the story.
In the video, Pelosi can be heard admitting, “I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for war,” a stunning acknowledgment of security lapses under her watch.
Chairman Barry Loudermilk, who reviewed the footage, emphasized that Pelosi confessed to being accountable for not having the National Guard ready at the Capitol, a statement that clashes sharply with her public denials.
Interestingly, after the January 6 chaos, Pelosi and other Democrats didn’t hesitate to fortify the Capitol with barbed wire fencing and troops, a move that raises eyebrows given their earlier reluctance to deploy the Guard.
Critics might argue this was a classic case of locking the barn door after the horse bolted, while supporters could claim it was a necessary response to an unimaginable breach.
Regardless, the contradictions between Pelosi’s words, the documentary evidence, and the historical offers of assistance from the Trump administration leave plenty of room for debate about who truly dropped the ball on that fateful day.
