Leaked NEA documents show leftist teachers trained to counter conservative parents

 November 23, 2025

Imagine a classroom where teachers are not just educators, but activists armed with a playbook to push progressive ideas on your children.

Leaked documents from the National Education Association (NEA), the nation’s largest teachers’ union, reveal a troubling agenda to coach educators on promoting controversial gender and racial ideologies while painting Republican lawmakers and concerned parents as the enemy. This isn’t education—it’s a battle plan.

The Daily Caller reported that the NEA is preparing a training event set for early December, titled “Advancing LGBTQ+ Justice and Transgender Advocacy,” aimed at embedding progressive beliefs in schools and resisting opposition from conservative groups.

These materials, uncovered by the parental advocacy group Defending Education, expose a strategy to indoctrinate students with ideas about gender identity and pronoun usage that many parents find deeply concerning. It’s not just about teaching tolerance; it’s about reshaping young minds to align with a specific worldview.

Training Teachers to Push Progressive Agendas

If you disagree with this approach, well, you’re part of the problem, according to the NEA. The training handouts don’t mince words, accusing conservative lawmakers of wielding “racist dog whistles” and “transphobic tropes” to incite fear and maintain power.

It’s a bold claim, but one that conveniently sidesteps any legitimate concerns about age-appropriateness or parental rights in education. Painting dissent as bigotry seems more like a tactic to silence than to engage.

Specifically, the NEA materials assert that over the past decade, Republican-led state legislatures have ramped up anti-transgender rhetoric as a political tool. The union claims this has sparked “a moral panic over transgender youth” to mobilize their base.

Isn’t it fair to ask if parents’ worries about rapid policy shifts in schools deserve a real discussion, not just a label? Teachers are being equipped with scripts, including a sample “Transition Announcement Email” and guidance to use terms like “genders” over “gender,” all to shift cultural norms.

Encouraging educators to introduce their pronouns and prompt others to do the same isn’t just a suggestion—it’s a mission to redefine social interactions. For many parents, this feels less like inclusion and more like overreach.

One of the more eyebrow-raising elements is how the NEA tackles the contentious issue of transgender athletes in women’s sports. Their materials suggest flipping the narrative, framing opposition as discrimination against women rather than a defense of fair competition.

Questioning the Narrative on Sports

It’s a clever rhetorical trick, but does it address the core concerns about biology and equity? The NEA provides talking points, stating, “instead of striving for equality in sports, certain politicians are distracting us from the real issue by blaming transgender women, instead of helping make sports a better place for all women.”

It’s a line designed to tug at heartstrings, but it dodges the tough question of how to balance inclusion with fairness in competitive arenas. Beyond sports, the training urges teachers to “Name the villains who violate our values,” explicitly targeting politicians.

In the NEA’s view, these politicians restrict freedoms based on race, wealth, or transgender status. This kind of language isn’t just divisive—it’s a call to arms in the classroom.

Shouldn’t schools be neutral ground for learning, not ideological battlefields? The union insists that teachers have a “right” to “provide inclusive curriculum,” a phrase that sounds noble until unpacked.

When “inclusive” becomes a code for pushing one-sided views on gender ideology, many parents feel their own values are being excluded. It’s a subtle bait-and-switch that deserves scrutiny.
