Dilbert creator Scott Adams battling paralysis and cancer, reaching out to Trump for help

 December 17, 2025

Scott Adams, the mastermind behind the iconic Dilbert comic strip, has stunned fans with a heartbreaking revelation about his health.

The Daily Mail reported that the 68-year-old cartoonist is grappling with an aggressive prostate cancer that has left him paralyzed from the waist down, while publicly pleading for help from President Donald Trump to access a potentially life-extending treatment.

Adams, whose Dilbert strip has entertained readers since 1989, first confirmed his cancer diagnosis back in March, though he had hinted at battling the disease for quite some time.

In a candid YouTube video, Adams shared the devastating extent of his condition, revealing he can no longer move his lower body.

"Paralyzed below the waist," Adams declared, adding, "In the sense that I can't move any muscles. I do have a feeling, I just can't move any muscles."

That gut-punch of a statement hits hard—here’s a man who built a career on sharp wit, now facing a battle where humor can’t save the day, though his hope for recovery through radiation persists.

Desperate Fight for Treatment Access

Undergoing radiation to halt the tumor’s growth, Adams clings to the possibility of regaining strength in his legs, a flicker of optimism amid a darkening storm.

Yet, the real frustration lies with a promising FDA-approved drug, Pluvicto, which Adams believes could extend his life, even if it’s not a cure.

His healthcare provider, Kaiser of Northern California, dropped the ball, failing to schedule his IV treatment, leaving him in limbo and “declining fast,” as he put it in November.

Desperate and out of options, Adams, a longtime supporter of Trump, took to social media to beg for intervention, hoping to jolt Kaiser into action.

Trump didn’t hesitate, responding on Truth Social with a swift “On it!” while an associate, Kennedy, followed up asking how to reach Adams for direct assistance.

Now, that’s the kind of rapid response conservatives cheer for—government bureaucracy be darned, a leader stepping in to cut through the red tape for a citizen in need.

Hope Amid Controversy and Struggle

In a December 13 livestream, Adams acknowledged that his public plea might have nudged Kaiser to pay closer attention, though part of his Pluvicto treatment remains postponed due to ongoing radiation.

Despite the setbacks, Adams, worth nearly $70 million and with Dilbert still published in 57 countries, isn’t just fighting for himself—he’s exposing cracks in a healthcare system many conservatives argue is bogged down by inefficiency.

Even as his career faced turbulence with controversies like newspapers dropping Dilbert over anti-woke themes in 2023, Adams’ plight reminds us that behind the political sparring, there’s a human story of grit and perseverance worth rooting for.
