Newly released emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate are peeling back the curtain on a tangled web of elite connections that could make even the most jaded Washington insider raise an eyebrow.
The New York Post reported that these documents, handed over to the House Oversight Committee in a massive 20,000-page dump on Wednesday, expose Epstein’s fallout with Bill Clinton and his cozy chats with other high-profile figures like former Obama White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler.
Let’s rewind to the early 1990s, when Epstein first linked up with Clinton, donating to his presidential campaign and later contributing $20,000 to Hillary Clinton’s Senate bid in 1999.
During Clinton’s presidency, Epstein was a frequent White House visitor, popping in over a dozen times, and their relationship didn’t cool off after Clinton left office.
Epstein kept the connection alive with donations to the Clinton Foundation, while Clinton was logged on the infamous “Lolita Express”—Epstein’s private jet—more than two dozen times, often surrounded by young women Epstein reportedly employed.
One eyebrow-raising moment came during a 2002 humanitarian trip to Africa, where Clinton was photographed getting a shoulder rub from a 22-year-old massage therapist during a refueling stop on that very jet.
Epstein’s quirks didn’t stop at flight logs—he kept a bizarre painting of Clinton in a blue dress at his Upper East Side mansion, a not-so-subtle nod to the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
While Clinton visited Epstein’s New York apartment, his spokesperson insists he never set foot on Little St. James, Epstein’s private island, though conflicting accounts from a former aide and an accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, claim otherwise.
Giuffre even recalled seeing Clinton at a dinner with “two lovely girls,” though she later had to retract some of her broader claims—leaving more questions than answers.
Fast forward to January 23, 2016, when Epstein’s frustration with Clinton boiled over in an email, stating, “He swore, with whole-hearted conviction to me that he had done something, he had forgotten that he also swore the exact opposite to me only weeks before.”
That’s quite the accusation of dishonesty, and it’s no surprise Epstein cut ties—though Clinton’s team is quick to push back, with a spokesperson saying, “President Clinton knew nothing about Epstein’s heinous crimes and hadn’t spoken to him in twenty years."
Meanwhile, Epstein was exchanging friendly messages with Ruemmler, a former Obama lawyer turned Goldman Sachs exec, touching on political topics and even expressing alarm over a mysterious figure dubbed “macgiver,” whom she described as close to “being a psychopath” with “no conscience."
Ruemmler’s ties to Epstein came through a shared client, as confirmed by a Goldman Sachs spokesperson, but her candid emails paint a picture of someone far too comfortable chatting with a man of Epstein’s reputation.
Then there’s the bizarre 2018 proposal from physicist Lawrence Krauss for a “men of the world” conference, inviting Epstein to join a lineup including Clinton, Kevin Spacey, Al Franken, and Woody Allen—a guest list that sounds like a Hollywood scandal waiting to happen.
While the House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed the Clintons for more answers this summer, they’ve yet to appear, leaving the public to wonder what else lies buried in this saga of power, privilege, and questionable judgment.
