FDA considers strongest alert for Covid vaccines over heart risks

 December 12, 2025

Hold onto your hats, folks—the FDA might just slap its most severe warning on Covid vaccines due to alarming heart damage concerns.

The Daily Mail reported that the FDA is mulling over a "black box" warning—the highest safety alert possible—on these shots, spurred by reports of child deaths, fresh studies on side effects, and a growing debate over vaccine trust and policy.

This isn’t just a bureaucratic footnote; a black box warning sits at the top of prescribing info, screaming major risks to doctors and patients alike.

Sources leaking to CNN, under the cloak of anonymity, say the FDA is crafting plans for this drastic step, though it’s unclear if it targets just mRNA vaccines like Pfizer and Moderna or all Covid shots, including Novavax.

Leading the charge is Dr. Vinay Prasad, head of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, who dropped a bombshell in an internal email, warning that “at least 10 children had died after receiving the shots.”

While the FDA insists discussions are preliminary and nothing’s set in stone, they’ve launched a deep dive into these tragic reports—hardly the reassurance some parents might crave.

Heart Risks Spark Heated Debate

Back in July, the FDA already tweaked warnings on Pfizer and Moderna shots, flagging a heightened risk of myocarditis and pericarditis—heart inflammations—especially in young males aged 12 to 24.

Fast forward to a Stanford study published just yesterday, where cardiologist Dr. Joseph Wu confirmed mRNA vaccines can indeed trigger myocarditis, though he’s quick to note it’s rare, affecting about one in 125,000 vaccinated folks under 65.

For young men and boys under 25, that risk jumps to one in 37,000—still low, but enough to make any conservative thinker question the one-size-fits-all vaccine push.

Dr. Wu isn’t waving a white flag, saying, “The incidence of myocarditis after mRNA vaccination remains very low, even among young males."

He adds, “Importantly, Covid infection itself poses a substantially higher risk of myocarditis than vaccination." Fair point, doc, but when did personal choice get sidelined for a disease many kids shrug off?

Data backs Wu’s claim—Covid infection carries a myocarditis risk of up to one in 950, far worse than the jab—but with 81% of Americans already dosed, shouldn’t we rethink mandating shots for the healthiest among us?

Public Trust Hangs in Balance

The CDC itself admits most young folks who got myocarditis post-vaccine recovered without lasting damage or fatalities, yet 10,000 injury or death claims tied to Covid shots linger in government files.

Meanwhile, the Commonwealth Fund credits these vaccines with saving 3 million lives and preventing 18 million hospitalizations in the rollout’s early years—a stat worth respecting, even if you’re skeptical of the progressive health agenda.

As the FDA weighs this black box warning—potentially after public notice and expert panels—and with figures like former CDC head Dr. Robert Redfield questioning mRNA shots, it’s clear the vaccine debate isn’t just science; it’s about trust, freedom, and who gets to decide what’s “safe enough” for our families.
