On a tense Saturday in Minneapolis, pardoned Jan. 6 rioter and Florida Senate candidate Jake Lang faced a violent confrontation with left-wing counterprotesters during his "March Against Fraud" near City Hall.
The incident unfolded as Lang led a small group in protest, met with aggression from a larger crowd associated with the People’s Action Coalition Against Trump, resulting in video evidence of physical attacks, an alleged stabbing attempt blocked by his tactical vest, and escalating chaos with the Minnesota National Guard on alert.
The New York Post reported that the day began with Lang arriving alongside a handful of supporters, intending to make a bold statement on the steps of Minneapolis City Hall.
Across the street, a separate demonstration by a group described as funded by George Soros was already in progress, setting the stage for conflict.
Lang, wearing a bulletproof vest, livestreamed his 49-minute protest on X, even playing "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice to drown out sirens and counterprotesters’ shouts.
During the livestream, Lang shouted controversial statements into a microphone, including calls about demographic shifts and repatriation policies.
"We deserve a future for white Americans," Lang declared, a statement that fueled immediate backlash from those gathered nearby.
Such rhetoric, while protected speech, predictably lit a fuse in an already charged atmosphere, especially given Minnesota’s weeks of heightened tensions following the tragic Jan. 7 shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent.
The situation spiraled as counterprotesters surrounded Lang, with video on X capturing him being struck on the head with fists, flags, and other objects while trying to escape.
Photos later showed the 29-year-old bloodied, with snow clinging to his hair, a stark image of the melee’s intensity.
An X user noted the clash peaked on the City Hall steps, while Lang himself claimed on the platform that a "crazie white commie leftist rioter" attempted to stab him, an attack he said was thwarted by his vest.
As Lang attempted to flee in a red sedan, video revealed counterprotesters yanking open the car door, kicking, and trying to drag him back onto the street.
Amid the chaos, the Minnesota National Guard was placed on alert, with footage showing Humvees rolling into the area to manage potential further unrest.
While Lang had promised a provocative act of burning a Quran at City Hall, he never followed through, instead spending much of the event dodging aggressors, including one who mockingly performed a Nazi salute in his face.
