Glamorous GOP aide from New Jersey charged with faking political assault

 November 22, 2025

Natalie Greene, a 26-year-old former GOP aide from New Jersey, stands accused of orchestrating a fake, politically motivated attack that prosecutors say was a complete sham.

The New York Post reported that Greene, once a staffer for Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), who allegedly paid a fetish artist to inflict wounds on her body to sell a story of political persecution.

Known for her glamorous flair and Maserati SUV, Greene hails from Ocean City on the Jersey Shore, balancing work for Van Drew with studies at Rutgers Law School until she recently left the program.

Court filings reveal that days before the alleged July 23 incident at Egg Harbor Township Nature Reserve, Greene traveled to Pennsylvania, paying $500 for a body modification artist to cut her face, neck, chest, back, and shoulders.

She then claimed three armed men ambushed her on a trail, bound her with black zip ties, and scrawled hateful messages like “TRUMP WHORE” and slurs against Van Drew on her skin.

Prosecutors, however, allege it’s all a ruse—zip ties found in her own Maserati SUV suggest she staged the entire episode, casting doubt on her dramatic account.

Legal Consequences and Community Reaction

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey announced Greene’s arrest on a recent Wednesday, charging her with conspiracy to convey false statements and hoaxes, plus lying to federal law enforcement.

Once the story exploded into national news, her social media—previously showcasing glitzy outfits—disappeared quicker than common sense at a woke seminar, wiped clean to dodge scrutiny.

In Ocean City, where her mom works at the library and her dad at a sign company, locals expressed shock, labeling the hoax both disturbing and deeply unsettling.

“It’s heartbreaking—a beautiful, idealistic girl who threw her life away in the stupidest, craziest way possible,” said Tom Lillis, a 54-year-old resident, summing up the community’s mix of sorrow and astonishment.

“Obviously she’s not well in the head if she thought this was a good idea,” Lillis added, hinting at underlying issues that might have driven such a bizarre scheme.

Greene’s lawyer, Louis Barbone, defended her on Friday, stating, “At the age of 26, my client served her community working full time to assist the constituents of the Congressman with loyalty and fidelity.”

Questions of Motive and Fallout

While Barbone stresses Greene’s presumed innocence, conservatives might ponder why anyone would go to such lengths, risking credibility when genuine policy disagreements could be aired openly.

Even Rep. Van Drew’s office offered restrained sympathy, noting, “While Natalie is no longer associated with the congressman’s government office, our thoughts and prayers are with her and hope she’s getting the care she needs.”

It’s a gracious sentiment, yet many on the right may wonder if this incident distracts from real issues, reminding us that truth, not theatrics, should drive political discourse in these divisive times.
