Hamas founder’s son warns Zohran Mamdani is pushing alliance of radical socialism with Islam

 November 10, 2025

Could New York City’s mayor-elect, Zohran Mamdani, be a hidden danger to the very fabric of American freedom?

Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of a Hamas co-founder, has sounded a piercing alarm in an exclusive Breitbart News interview, claiming Mamdani represents a dangerous alliance of radical socialist and Islamist forces aiming to unravel Western democracy and capitalism.

Yousef, who once broke ties with Hamas and worked with Israeli intelligence under the alias “The Green Prince,” brings a unique perspective to his critique of Mamdani’s rise to power.

Unpacking the Red-Green Alliance Warning

Yousef labels Mamdani a “Trojan horse” for what he calls the “Red-Green Alliance,” a troubling partnership between extreme socialist and Islamist ideologies bent on reshaping New York into something unrecognizable.

This isn’t just a local election concern, according to Yousef, but a calculated move by networks that allegedly funded Mamdani’s campaign with radical socialist and discreet Islamist support.

Campaign finance records reveal a hefty $120,000 contribution from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Unity and Justice Fund to a major PAC backing Mamdani, an organization currently under congressional scrutiny for purported ties to Hamas.

Adding fuel to the fire, Mamdani campaigned alongside Imam Siraj Wahhaj, a Brooklyn cleric tied by prosecutors to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing as an unindicted co-conspirator, whose past statements include inflammatory remarks about homosexuality and calls for a “gun-free jihad.”

Mamdani’s defense of Wahhaj as a “pillar” of the community clashes with these documented controversies, raising questions about the mayor-elect’s judgment in allies.

Further, Mamdani’s longtime mentor, Linda Sarsour, who also mentored under Wahhaj, boasted at a CAIR event that “Muslim money” backed the campaign, promising to hold Mamdani to radical commitments.

Palestinian Cause at Campaign Core

Mamdani’s political identity centers heavily on the Palestinian cause, a focus evident from his college days founding a Students for Justice in Palestine chapter to his support for the BDS movement and praise for individuals convicted of funding Hamas.

A post-election poll showed 83% of his voters prioritized the Palestinian issue, a sentiment his campaign strategically placed as its centerpiece, according to adviser Patrick Gaspard.

Yet, Yousef challenges this narrative, accusing Mamdani of exploiting a “made-up” Palestinian identity for political gain, a tactic he claims mirrors Hamas’s strategy of weaponizing suffering for power.

Yousef doesn’t hold back on Mamdani’s policy agenda either, dismissing affordable housing promises as “economically impossible” and warning that his economic vision echoes failed Marxist redistribution models that could sap New York’s wealth.

“To promise the masses that New York is going to become affordable — I don’t know how this is even possible,” Yousef told Breitbart News, suggesting such pledges are little more than empty bait for desperate voters.

Perhaps most chilling is Yousef’s prediction that Mamdani’s blend of socialist and Islamist ideals could mirror London’s struggles under Mayor Sadiq Khan, potentially leading to mismanagement, debt, and a reliance on foreign funding that might reshape the city’s cultural soul.
