Democrats are echoing Michelle Obama's deluded and infantile claims that America is simply too sexist to elect a woman as president.
Breitbart reported that on NBC’s “Meet the Press” this past Sunday, Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., stirred the political pot by aligning with former first lady Michelle Obama’s childish claim that the nation isn’t ready for a woman in the Oval Office.
Clyburn’s appearance on the show, hosted by Kristen Welker, zeroed in on the Democratic Party’s struggles and the supposed cultural hurdles facing female candidates.
Welker pressed Clyburn on whether the country could embrace a female president, directly referencing Michelle Obama’s recent remarks.
Last month, Obama made waves by declaring the nation unprepared for such a historic shift, a sentiment Clyburn didn’t hesitate to endorse. He called her take “absolutely correct,” suggesting history itself backs up the claim. Of course, this is ignoring the fact that so far, there haven't been any good woman candidates.
Clyburn pointed to past campaigns by women like Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris as proof of the uphill battle. Of course, Clinton is one of the most reviled figures in American politics.
The less said about Kamala Harris and her terrible political campaigns, the better. Nonetheless, Clyburn argued that despite their "credentials," the electorate has repeatedly shown reluctance, a pattern he finds deeply troubling.
“Michelle Obama is absolutely correct,” Clyburn reiterated, doubling down on the notion that America is too sexist. It couldn't possibly be that the two most prominent women candidates are reviled by large chunks of the country.
He lamented that elections have often taken “two, three and four steps backwards,” a subtle jab at voters’ hesitancy to embrace change.
Meanwhile, Democrats had no issue tarnishing the name and image of any Republican woman who dared go against the progressive agenda.
While sympathetic to the frustration, one must wonder if this narrative risks becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy—blaming society without challenging it to evolve.
Yet, Clyburn insisted that appearing unready shouldn’t halt the fight to elect a woman to the highest office. His resolve is clear: setbacks are not surrender, and the pursuit must continue despite cultural headwinds.
Democrats believe that everyday Americans are just mindless sexists and cannot countenance the idea of a woman in the White House. However, Joe Biden was elected five years ago with a woman Vice President, and that was in spite of her lack of qualifications.
Democrats are simply pushing progressive nonsense and divisive gender politics to divide Americans.
