Tragedy struck in the heart of Manhattan when a New York Jets player was gunned down in a shocking act of violence.
Breitbart reported that in a disturbing turn of events early Sunday morning, Jets cornerback Kris Boyd, 29, was shot outside a restaurant. He now fights for his life at Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.
The incident unfolded around 2 a.m. outside Sei Less restaurant in Manhattan, where a heated argument escalated into gunfire.
Police arrived after receiving reports of a shooting, finding Boyd with a severe gunshot wound to the abdomen.
According to the New York Post, “Boyd was shot in the abdomen outside Sei Less restaurant after a dispute turned violent.”
Isn’t it a bitter irony that in a city obsessed with “gun-free zones,” a violent clash still ends with bullets flying? Boyd was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening state after this brutal attack.
The New York Jets organization, clearly shaken, issued a restrained response to the incident. A team representative stated, “We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time.”
While the Jets stay quiet, the conversation inevitably turns to New York’s strict gun control measures, which didn’t prevent this tragedy. This shooting is a nightmare for socialist mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, who has made it clear that he isn't going to be helping boost New York City's besieged law enforcement.
Breitbart News notes that Everytown for Gun Safety ranks New York as No. 4 in the nation for tough firearm restrictions, including magazine limits and “assault weapons” bans.
Yet, despite red flag laws and concealed carry bans in “sensitive places,” a high-profile athlete was shot in Manhattan’s early hours.
New York’s exhaustive list of rules—bump stock bans, “Glock switch” prohibitions, and microstamping mandates—didn’t shield Boyd on that street.
While we hope for his recovery, it’s tough not to question if the progressive drive to disarm law-abiding folks leaves everyone more exposed to those who ignore the law.
