The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation terminated a staff attorney after an internal investigation into her social media posts urging citizens to "make their lives f---ing miserable" for ICE agents, a stance sharply at odds with the law enforcement agency that employed her.
Shannon Desherow, who served as assistant general counsel for OSBI, lost her job after the agency completed its review of an expletive-filled TikTok video in which she encouraged Americans to obstruct federal immigration enforcement. The agency confirmed the termination to Fox News Digital on Friday.
An OSBI spokesperson kept the explanation short and direct:
"Once we were made aware of her social media post, we opened an internal investigation. Upon completion of the internal investigation, she was terminated."
The spokesperson added that OSBI could not comment further because the matter was a personnel action. But the publicly available TikTok footage speaks for itself, and raises hard questions about how a lawyer embedded inside a state law enforcement bureau came to openly advocate resistance to a federal agency.
In the TikTok video that triggered the investigation, Desherow mocked conservatives who say citizens should cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. She opened by dismissing the "just comply" position and escalated from there.
"ICE has no authority and no jurisdiction over U.S. citizens. So why the f--- would I comply with an order given to me at gunpoint by somebody who has no f---ing authority to make that order? I'm not going to. That's the f---ing thing."
She did not stop at personal defiance. Desherow urged every American citizen to adopt the same posture toward federal immigration agents.
"Every citizen needs to have that f---ing mindset. We need to make their lives f---ing miserable, and that's exactly what we should be doing."
She also claimed that ICE warrants are administrative instruments that do not satisfy Fourth Amendment requirements, a legal argument she delivered not in a courtroom brief but in a profanity-laced social media video while employed as a lawyer for a state law enforcement agency.
The anti-ICE sentiment Desherow expressed is not an isolated personal quirk. More than 100 liberal Democrats in Congress have demanded party leaders back abolishing ICE entirely, and the agency's officers have faced escalating hostility from activists and elected officials alike.
Desherow's anti-ICE video gained wide attention after the social media account Libs of TikTok reshared it on July 9. Fox News Digital had previously reported that OSBI placed Desherow under investigation before the agency ultimately moved to fire her.
The anti-ICE rant was not Desherow's only provocative posting. Her TikTok page also featured a pinned video referencing the election of Zohran Mamdani, in which she lectured conservatives about what she characterized as their own version of religious extremism.
"I don't want to hear a single conservative in my comment section chirping about Sharia law because of Zohran's election. OK, you guys love Sharia law, you love fundamentalist extremism when White people are implementing it."
Mamdani's name has surfaced repeatedly in the national debate over sanctuary city policies and ICE enforcement. Federal officials have vowed that sanctuary policies will not shield politicians who attempt to block lawful immigration operations.
Desherow also made TikTok videos critical of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk following his fatal shooting at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025. In those posts, she blamed Kirk for creating the conditions that led to his own death.
"Charlie Kirk inherited the society that he helped create. Charlie Kirk and other conservative talking heads like him preach stochastic violence endlessly and then whine and cry when they're the victim of their own f---ing violent rhetoric."
That quote, blaming a man for his own murder because of his political speech, came from a lawyer whose job was to serve a state law enforcement agency. Libs of TikTok reshared those videos as well.
The hostility Desherow directed at ICE agents mirrors a broader pattern of threats and even physical attacks against the agency's personnel. An Army veteran was charged with federal arson after an incendiary attack targeting a Manhattan federal building tied to ICE operations, one of several incidents that have drawn FBI scrutiny.
At the time Fox News Digital reported the termination, Desherow's LinkedIn profile still identified her as "Currently working for the OSBI" in the role of assistant general counsel. Her LinkedIn bio described her as a "Lawyer, mom, bookworm, leftist in a red state" and included a Palestinian flag emoji. The bio also carried a disclaimer: "views are entirely my own and not representative of my employer."
Desherow graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in December 2016 and earned her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2020. Her TikTok page had been set to private at one point but appeared public again at the time of reporting.
Fox News Digital reached out to ICE for comment and attempted to reach Desherow directly. Neither response was included in the reporting.
The FBI's terrorism task force has investigated anti-ICE attacks in other parts of the country, underscoring the real-world dangers that follow when public figures and professionals normalize hostility toward federal law enforcement officers carrying out lawful duties.
Several questions remain unanswered. OSBI did not disclose which specific policy or rule Desherow violated, or whether the investigation focused on the anti-ICE video alone or on her broader social media activity. The agency's decision to limit its public comment to a personnel-matter disclaimer leaves the precise grounds for termination unstated.
What is clear from the public record is the contradiction at the center of this story. A lawyer employed by a state law enforcement bureau, an agency that cooperates with federal partners including ICE, used her personal platform to urge citizens to obstruct those same federal agents, to refuse lawful orders, and to make their working lives miserable. She did so in language no professional would use in a courtroom, a briefing, or a client meeting.
Her LinkedIn disclaimer said her views did not represent her employer. OSBI, by firing her, made sure that was true.
