Tucker Carlson faces backlash for holding interview with controversial right wing commentator Nick Fuentes

 October 28, 2025

Brace yourselves, folks—Tucker Carlson has just set off a political earthquake with his latest guest selection.

The Daily Mail reported that on Monday night, the former Fox News host released an interview with Nick Fuentes, a 27-year-old right-wing commentator infamous for his anti-Israel stance and hardline conservative views.

Fuentes, often seen as a lightning rod for controversy, has made shocking statements in the past, including comments about the holocaust, a taboo topic that has been off limits for discussion for years.

Carlson didn’t shy away from challenging Fuentes on issues like identity politics and gender dynamics during their talk. Still, many on the right are questioning why such a divisive figure was given a platform at all.

Criticism of Christian Zionists Ignites Fury

The real flashpoint came when Carlson and Fuentes aligned in their criticism of “Christian Zionists,” evangelical conservatives who support Israel on religious grounds.

Carlson named prominent figures like Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz, and George W. Bush as examples of those infected by what he termed a “brain virus.”

“I dislike them more than anybody,” Carlson stated, adding, “Because it’s Christian heresy, and I’m offended by that as a Christian.”  The reaction was immediate and fierce, with many conservatives feeling betrayed or seeing the late Charlie Kirk, a strong Israel supporter, indirectly criticized.

Brandon Tatum vented on X, calling out Carlson for seemingly attacking Kirk’s beliefs. That’s not just disagreement; it’s a full-on clash of values.

Mike Huckabee, Trump’s ambassador to Israel, responded on X with a calm but pointed jab, saying, “Wasn’t aware that Tucker despises me.” He also attempted to claim that his views were backed by the Bible, a hotly debated claim.

Other voices weren’t as measured in their response to Carlson’s guest choice. Josh Hammer, a friend of Kirk, sarcastically remarked online that Kirk must be “rolling in his grave” over this, labeling it “simply despicable.”

Legal commentator Will Chamberlain also slammed Carlson, highlighting the irony of him speaking at Kirk’s funeral just over a month ago, only to now platform Fuentes while targeting Christian Zionists. Chamberlain called it a “total betrayal.”

Fuentes’ History Deepens the Controversy

Let’s not lose sight of who Fuentes is—a young commentator who admits to being radicalized as a college student during Trump’s 2016 rise. He even pointed to conservative host Mark Levin, a Zionist, as an early influence on his views about demographic changes in America.

Fuentes’ criticism of Trump and his radical rhetoric make Carlson’s decision to host him perplexing to many MAGA supporters.

Charlie Kirk, before his passing, was a leading voice among evangelical conservatives for his steadfast support of Israel, even standing by Carlson at a Turning Point conference despite donor pushback.

Some might argue Carlson is simply encouraging tough conversations, as he did openly disagree with Fuentes on several points. For those who claim to exemplify Charlie Kirk's principles, Carlson's decision to have tough conversations should be applauded.

The conservative movement does not endorse deplatforming and Charlie Kirk was the fiercest defender of debating ideas in the open, not resorting to outrage and censorship.
