Warnock brands Trump a crook who ‘has got to go’ as Democrats float third impeachment

 October 18, 2026

Sen. Raphael Warnock called President Trump a crook who must leave office, as Democrats already debate a third impeachment if they reclaim the House.

Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock used NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday to declare that President Donald Trump “is a crook and he’s got to go,” after host Kristen Welker asked whether Democrats should move to impeach him again if they win back the House.

Breitbart aired the exchange in which Welker framed impeachment as one of the big agenda fights inside the party. Warnock did not answer with a clean yes or no on articles of impeachment. He went straight to removal language, investigations, and a corruption charge.

That is the Democratic posture in plain view: before any new House majority exists, a sitting senator is already talking about driving the president out and putting his allies under the microscope.

Investigations first, governing second

Welker put the choice directly to him. She asked where he stood if Democrats retake the House and whether they should impeach Trump for a third time.

Warnock answered:

"Listen, Donald Trump is a crook and he’s got to go. And the people who are enabling him, they all have to be held accountable. And so we ought to have the investigations to get to the truth behind this, the most corrupt administration in American history. At the same time, we have to walk and chew gum at the same time. Americans are being crushed under these costs, which are connected to his corruption. And so we we have to end this war. Stop the tariffs, fix health care, and then lay out for the American people a vision that embraces all of us."

He tied grocery bills and gas prices to “his corruption,” called for probes “to get to the truth,” and said enablers “all have to be held accountable.” The governing items, tariffs, health care, a broader “vision”, came after the verdict that Trump has to go.

Warnock then sharpened the wealth attack.

"His corruption is crushing the American people. The American people are watching themselves get poorer and poorer while Donald Trump, his family, his friends are getting richer and richer. He’s four billion richer than he was when he entered office. And meanwhile, people are crushed under these gas prices, crushed under the price of groceries."

He offered the “four billion richer” figure on air as fact. The broadcast clip does not show a document, audit, or data source behind it. It landed as a political charge on a Sunday show, not a cited finding.

Impeachment talk returns on cue

Welker’s question treated a third impeachment drive as a live debate at the top of a possible Democratic House agenda. Warnock’s reply matched the mood. He labeled the Trump administration the most corrupt in American history, demanded investigations, and said the president and those enabling him must face accountability.

He also said Democrats must “walk and chew gum at the same time”, pursue probes while telling voters they will stop tariffs and fix health care. The sequence still put the crook charge and the exit demand up front.

For national viewers, the message was simple. A Democratic senator from Georgia used a premier Sunday interview to call the president a crook, say he has to go, and keep impeachment and investigations at the center of the party’s imagined return to House power.

Families hearing about gas and groceries got a removal campaign packaged as cost relief. That is the trade Democrats keep offering: name the enemy, promise probes, and insist the rest will follow.

Voters wanted lower costs and a government that works. They got another Sunday sermon that starts with “he’s got to go.”
